I am passionate about life, science and photography. Through my lens, I do my best to present a narrative that captures the essence of daily life wherever I am.
Growing up in Sydney, Australia, I began this journey using traditional film cameras, developing black and white photographs in a small darkroom in the basement of my family’s home.
Following a hiatus of a couple of decades to pursue a scientific career and nurture my family, I reignited my artistic flame while living in Canberra, but with digital photography.
This renaissance introduced me to the craftsmanship of Fuji and Leica cameras, which let me delve deeper into the nuances of my predominantly black and white, high contrast, sometimes surreal and abstract aesthetic.
My documentary-street photography style draws inspiration from the diversity of city life. I take my camera wherever I go. Photographing places I have lived or visited, I hope to capture their unique energy, architecture and peoples. Each location serves as a tapestry for my art, weaving together narratives from local to distant and diverse cultures.
This small portfolio reflects the continuing evolution of my craft. It's a visual diary that chronicles the daily lives of people and places around the world. Through my lens, I aspire to continue exploring, interpreting, and portraying shadow and light, as I see it, within the urban tapestry that envelops us all.
I hope that you enjoy my photographs.
